Lady Jane Grey Miniature Portrait

Lady Jane Grey Miniature Portrait

An original black ink and watercolour painting of Lady Jane Grey, the nine day Queen, who was placed on the throne of England after the death of Edward VI but was later executed under the reign of his sister Mary I.

In October 2024, I challenged myself to paint a new miniature portrait, inspired by the world of the Tudor court, every day of the month.

I'm now putting these beautiful original artworks up for sale. Own your own little piece of the Tudor court with a hand-painted portrait. Perfect for history lovers and those interested in the drama and intrigue of the 16th century.

Painted onto 300gsm textured watercolour paper and framed in a vintage brass frame (itself over forty years old). The miniature (including frame) measures 7" x 5.5".

Please note, the frames are vintage, pre-loved and thrifted. Some are over fifty years old, so consequently there are marks and scratches on them - this is to be expected and I think it adds to the charm and overall feel of the pieces as historic miniatures.
