EARWIG
Projection, Set & Costume Design
This show utilised projections, videos and captions in the style of 1920s art deco silent films. I illustrated everything including the patterned fabric on the costumes and the font for the projections. Costumes made by Ros Bell.
Queen of Swords
Set & Costume Design
Costume and set design for a short film created during 2021. The costumes were inspired by the 1980s New Romantic movement blended with touches of the late Victorian/early Edwardian era in which the piece was set, as well as drawing influence from the Pre-Raphaelite artists. The beautiful illustrations - inspired by the late Victorian occult and spiritualist movements - were done by Jon Turner (who also co-designed the set).
GREYHOUNDS
Set & Costume Design
Designed for both the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and rural touring, this set needed to be easily transportable and able to be set up and packed away again in less than five minutes. During the first act the set needs to resemble a village hall whilst by Act 2 it has transformed into a 1940s living room. The same furniture is used in both acts, unfolded, turned around, and redressed. Warm hues of red and brown, threaded through both set and costume, create a sepia-toned, vintage environment.
CLOUDS
Set & Costume Design
The main feature of this show is a large Edwardian aeroplane, which the characters interact with throughout. Designed for both the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and rural touring, the plane needed to be light, easily transportable, and able to be set up and packed away in less than five minutes. The Edwardian costumes were created in shades of blue and brown, to compliment the leather and wood-work of the plane, and to evoke the open sky - a prominent image within the play.
